Data Center Disaster Recovery – Don’t Forget About Power
- Wednesday, 04/05/2017: 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
- Room: 515B
- Session Number:
With a number of highly visible outages that have shut down businesses, grounded thousands of planes, and caused havoc with commerce, data centers need to review their backup plans, infrastructures, and assess vulnerabilities – on a regular basis. As part of that process, they need to review power distribution. In one of the recent outages, for example, servers were inadvertently not wired to backup power. This session will focus on achieving reliable electricity in data centers, best power management practices for DR, and how to monitor the power chain for issues. It also will review processes and tools that should be in place to resolve issues quickly before they become full-blown problems.
